# Singapore public holidays 2027: dates and long weekends

Singapore has 11 gazetted public holidays in 2027, announced by the Ministry of Manpower on 18 June 2026. 5 of them make long weekends.

Chinese New Year (second day) falls on a Sunday, so Monday, 8 February 2027, is a public holiday.

- 6 Feb to 8 Feb (3 days): Chinese New Year, Chinese New Year (second day)
- 26 Mar to 28 Mar (3 days): Good Friday
- 15 May to 17 May (3 days): Hari Raya Haji
- 7 Aug to 9 Aug (3 days): National Day

## Best days to take leave

- Take Friday 21 May off for 4 days in a row (20 May to 23 May) around Vesak Day.
- Take Friday 29 Oct off for 4 days in a row (28 Oct to 31 Oct) around Deepavali.

## Working on a public holiday

Employees required to work on a public holiday are entitled to an extra day's salary at the basic rate of pay, in addition to their gross pay for that day. Employers and employees may agree to substitute a public holiday for another working day.
